We’re looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team, overseeing the collection of outstanding debts and managing customer accounts. Based in the City of London, this role is a great fit for someone who’s proactive, organised, and skilled in building strong client relationships.
About the Role:
In this key role, you’ll take ownership of credit control activities, working to minimise outstanding balances while fostering positive client relationships. You’ll be crucial to ensuring a healthy cash flow, as well as providing insightful credit analysis and regular reporting to management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Debt Management: Actively monitor and chase overdue accounts via phone, email, and letters, maintaining an up-to-date record of collections.
- Client Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with clients to facilitate payment arrangements and resolve queries effectively.
- Account Reconciliations: Carry out regular reconciliations of accounts, ensuring balances are correct and discrepancies resolved.
- Reporting: Produce weekly and monthly reports on aged debt, cash collection, and outstanding invoices for management review.
- Credit Analysis: Evaluate customer creditworthiness, setting credit limits and advising management on credit risk.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase efficiency within the credit control function.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience in a Credit Controller role, with a solid understanding of credit and collections processes.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills for effective client interactions.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage complex accounts and resolve discrepancies with precision.
- Analytical Mindset: Comfortable with reporting and analysis, with a good grasp of Excel and accounting software.
- Customer-focused: Professional and approachable, with a focus on maintaining positive client relationships while securing payment.
