An experienced Property Accountant is needed to join a small but active and welcoming team at a well-established and successful serviced apartment and rental agency in Central London.
The ideal accountant will be AAT, CIMA, or ACCA qualified and have at least three years of experience in the real estate industry.
The Property Accountant will:
- Focus on the management of client accounts
- Post and code contractor’s invoices to the client account
- Administer payments of rent to landlords and statements to landlords and clients
- Prepare service charge accounts
- Preparation of monthly management accounts reported on by revenue stream
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Submission of payroll information to the payroll bureau
- Preparation of year-end reports for submission to company accountants
- Raise one-off tenant and landlord demands such as recharges
- Assist in tenant/client/internal queries
- Prepare and submit statutory returns to HMRC in line with sector reporting requirements
- Communicate void periods to utility providers
- Reconcile company bank accounts on a weekly basis
- Maintenance of debtor’s ledger and transfer of revenue generated from clients’ accounts
- Maintenance of creditors’ ledger and administration of payments to suppliers within agreed terms
The successful Property Accountant will:
- Have previous client accounting experience within a property company
- Possess excellent written and spoken English
- Be a competent user of the MS Office suite
- Experience using property management software (preferably Arthur and CFP) and accounting software (Xero) is preferred but not essential
- Be hardworking and methodical with a strong common-sense approach to problem-solving
- Have a keen eye for detail and dedication to accuracy
- Have a professional appearance and demeanour
