The available position lies within one of the UKs leading Media distribution companies, who have established themselves for producing and profiting from a wide range of critically acclaimed programmes to global audiences. This is a key role within the finance team which will support the distribution business division alongside wider Production arm and requires a qualified individual who ideally has relevant industry experience.

Under direction of the Head of Finance, this engaging position will oversee the duties of a Finance Assistant and is a genuine mix of Management Accounting and Business Partnering.

Work in this position will enable you to take responsibility for your area, create strong working business relationships, through achieving both month end duties, providing financial support for business decisions and growth.

A model candidate would be a qualified accountant with finance experience gained within a media or entertainment business, ideally with effective business knowledge of royalties within Media distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Produce monthly management accounts including variance analysis
• Assist the sales team for any essential analysis or finance related queries
• Biannual residual and participation reporting
• Manage the balance sheet for the Distribution business including debtors, creditors, cash flow, accrued income and accruals
• Complete preparation of the financial forecasts
• Produce VAT Returns
• Manage and mentor an Accounts Assistant
• Cooperate with Business Affairs/Legal regarding financial terms throughout sales procedures
• Revenue recognition and profitability reporting for several revenue streams relating to sales and IP exploitation
• Spearhead the annual audit process for the division
• Candidate requirements include:
• Efficiently organised and able to meet tight deadlines
• Must be able to prepare full sets of management accounts
• Experience preferably obtained in Distribution/Media/Entertainment/ TV or similar industry
• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent)
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills possessing the skill to build strong business relationships with all levels of people
• Advanced Excel: pivot tables, v-lookups, able to utilise models etc
• Powerful team player
• A true interest in Media
• Exceptionally self-motivated, logical approach, optimistic attitude
