Next Best Move is partnering with a leading global entertainment organisation to find a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance. In this pivotal role, you will lead a high-performing finance team within a supportive and collaborative environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take full responsibility for overseeing the financial and management reporting teams, while also providing key insights to senior management on the company’s overall financial performance.
This position requires a strong communicator who is comfortable engaging at the Board level and with senior external stakeholders. Given the global scope of the organisation, you will interact with cross-border teams, making it essential to have a thorough understanding of international financial operations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with Regional Leaders: Work alongside regional teams to define the business’s strategic direction, identifying potential financial risks and opportunities for growth.
- Business Partnering with Budget Holders: Support budget holders with forecasting and budgeting, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s financial objectives.
- Maintaining Strong Financial Controls: Implement and monitor robust financial controls across the Group to safeguard the organisation’s financial integrity.
- Managing External Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audits and successful year-end delivery.
- Leading Key Projects: Take ownership of various finance-related projects, contributing your expertise to ensure they are completed successfully and in alignment with business goals.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Oversee the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts, ensuring they reflect the company’s financial priorities.
- Preparing Statutory Financial Statements: Lead the preparation of financial statements for multiple business entities, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Month-End Reporting: Oversee the month-end processes and the delivery of management accounts, providing detailed variance analysis, headcount reporting, and insightful commentary.
- Ensuring Timely Tax Filings: Work closely with local advisors to ensure that periodic tax filings are prepared and submitted within required timelines.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification is essential.
- Senior Finance Experience: Proven experience in a senior finance role, with a focus on management reporting, corporate accounting, and financial strategy.
- Collaborative Leadership Skills: A natural team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to motivate and inspire teams while fostering a culture of cooperation and inclusivity.
- Strong Relationship Building: High degree of self-awareness, with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships both internally and with external stakeholders.
- Expert Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP: A solid understanding of financial reporting standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Team Development: Demonstrated experience in managing and developing a high-performing finance team, with a focus on continuous improvement.
