Our client

Is seeking an experienced Programme Manager, to assist with a new social care transformation project, of Help and the development of a new Children & Family Hub offer. The ideal manager will have experience in the Line management of the Project, Programme Officer,  Project Support Officer, and other staff based on the project. This project will work in an integrated way with key partners and stakeholders to deliver a new approach to care and support to deliver better outcomes for people in the community.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Work closely with staff, contractors and suppliers to coordinate the production of high-quality and engaging resources for families
  • Programme manages the transformation of targeted Early Help operational practises and the development of a new Children & Family Hub offer.
  • Coordinate with and develop strong working relationships with external suppliers/contractors/freelancers.
  • Work closely with the Director, leadership team and Lead Content Writer to implement the annual resources plan.
  • Project Manage all written resources from the point of strategic approval through to distribution.
  • Undertake strategic reviews of historic resources and provide recommendations and plans for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a robust and efficient resources production process, delivering all written resources on time, to budget and to the pre-agreed level of quality.
  • Develop and maintain a rigorous project management culture for the development of written resources.
  • Use a project management system to track the progress of projects and communicate effectively with the project team.
  • Produce project progress reports for leadership and trustees to track overall progress towards the annual resources plan.
  • Lead the resources kick-off meetings and project progress meetings, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all parties involved in the project to assist in successful project outcomes.
  • Develop clear and comprehensive project plans and project briefs.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent resources projects.
  • Provide project progress updates to the wider staff team as required at team days/team meetings.

Person Specification

Education:

  • Degree or equivalent qualifications/experience
  • Project Management Qualification or willingness to work towards it

 

Experience: Essential

  • 2-3 years or equivalent project management experience
  • Experience of the social care / NHS environment
  • Experience in leading public sector transformation projects
  • Working with creative teams and on a range of creative outputs
  • Working creatively with tight deadlines and multiple concurrent projects
  • Delivering projects on time, to budget and to agreed quality levels.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the current change agenda across Children’s Social Care and the challenges faced by local authorities and key partners, leading to the need to innovate in the context of reducing resources.
  • Knowledge of service improvement and change management methodology.
