An Assistant IT Manager is needed to join our very busy, growing team supporting IT in the Islington Area. We are a prominent managed service provider in the education sector. 

An Assistant IT Manager will have the exciting chance to work for a company that prioritises engineering quality while joining a well-known and rapidly growing supplier of managed services and IT solutions. 

The Assistant IT Manager must have some expertise with Microsoft technologies and supporting infrastructures, although training will be offered by our seasoned on-site staff during induction and on-the-job training. Working alongside a group of committed experts in an educational setting will be your responsibility as an assistant IT manager. You will receive help from our team of experienced seniors either remotely or on-site, allowing you to advance your career in the industry and give our clients an exceptional service. 

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Under the guidance of the Network Manager: Provide specialist ICT support that ensures the school/centre establishes and maintains high quality learning facilities. 
  • Become the “second in command” to the Network Manager. 
  • Implement agreed work programmes/practices under the guidance of Senior Staff. 
  • Monitor and manage stock within an agreed budget, cataloguing resources and undertaking audits as required. 
  • Mentor junior colleagues 
  • Use specialist skills/training/experience to support school/centre’s staff & pupils ICT requirements. 
  • Maintenance of specialist equipment, check for quality/safety, undertake specialist repairs/modifications within own capabilities and arrange for other repairs/modifications to be carried out by others. 
  • Demonstrate and assist in the safe and effective use of specialist equipment/materials. 
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance as required to School/Centre. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) technical information at an appropriate level, and in a suitable style, having assessed the audience. 

Requirements: 

  • Experience in a helpdesk or support environment 
  • Microsoft Server Skills 
  • Keen desire to learn and expand on your existing knowledge/skills
